is the number of categories in this year’s research competition for HSE students and graduates.
These categories are Economics, Jurisprudence, World Economy and International Affairs, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Philosophy, Public Administration, Management, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Media Communications, History, Philology, Linguistics, as well as Engineering Science and Applied Mathematics. Most of the works submitted for the competition have been in Economics.
Students from all faculties and campuses of the university, as well as 2014 graduates, are eligible to take part in the competition. Submitted works will be evaluated by teachers and researchers from the university. Winners will receive certificates and valuable prizes, and their research will be published in a collection of HSE student works. In addition, they will have the opportunity to speak at a conference of students that will take part during the April Conference.

Applications for the fourth HSE University Competition of the Best Russian-language Scientific and Popular Science Papers will be accepted from February 1 to March 15. The authors that receive the highest scores from the expert jury will be awarded on June 6—Russian Language Day. The main goal of the competition is to support and promote Russian language as a language of science, as well as to popularise works affiliated with HSE University among the global Russian-speaking audience.
