HSE University and Sberbank Charitable Foundation Sign Cooperation Agreement
On September 8th, 2022, HSE University signed a cooperation agreement with the Sberbank Charitable Foundation ‘Investment to the Future’ as part of the Moscow Financial Forum. The agreement was signed by Nikolay Berzon, Director of the Federal Methodology Centre for Financial Literacy in Primary and Secondary Education, and Pyotr Polozhevets, Executive Director of the Foundation.
According to the agreement, the participants will create conditions for developing the HR potential of lecturers, methodologists, teachers of secondary vocational education, educators and other specialists, contributing to the development of financial education and the formation of competencies in the field of financial literacy among young people in Russia.
Nikolay Berzon
‘The agreement formalizes the partnership that has already developed between HSE University and the ‘Investment to the Future’ Sberbank Charitable Foundation. By combining the efforts of the foundation, which implements programmes on financial literacy, enabling a confident life in modern conditions, and HSE University, which is among the leaders in training financial specialists, we’ll create a combination of expert experience with the theoretical knowledge of university teachers. This will increase the effectiveness of teaching schoolchildren about this topic.’
HSE University will provide consulting and methodological support to teachers, and develop teaching materials. In addition, the foundation will develop tasks for the ‘Financial literacy’ track of the All-Russian ‘Vysshaya Proba’ Olympiad.
Pyotr Polozhevets
‘Only by coordinating joint efforts to achieve our common goal — to increase the level of financial literacy among schoolchildren — we will be able to achieve the best results. One of the main tasks the foundation faces today is to help people feel confident in a rapidly changing world. I think that the development of this culture is one of the most important factors of financial stability.’
HSE University and Sberbank Charitable Foundation also plan to jointly conduct a cyber tournament based on the ‘Investment’ mobile application for schoolchildren, create courses, and become a partner in the National Competition for Financial Literacy Teachers organized by the Federal Methodology Centre for Financial Literacy in Primary and Secondary Education in 2022-2023 in 33 regions of the Russian Federation.
