Advanced Master in International Business Programme: Moscow, Paris, Singapore and Two Degrees
Beginning in September 2015, the International Institute of Administration and Business at HSE will launch a new English-language Advanced Master in International Business programme. In less than half a year, this professional training programme will enable participants to learn how to manage a business in an international environment. An Open House for the programme will be held on April 25.
How does it work?
In the first semester, students will attend basic courses in the fundamentals of management, strategic management, marketing, personnel management, finance, as well as a course on comparative analysis of corporate law in Europe, America and Russia. In the second semester, in addition to courses such as cross-cultural management, leadership, management accounting, and change management, specialized advanced courses in finance or marketing will be available as electives. In addition, during the second semester, students will work on group consulting projects at companies that are partners of the programme (e.g., Gaz de France, Renault, Danone, Total, Schneider Electric, Mars, and others).
In the second semester, students will be able to study in either Paris or Singapore. The French business school ESSESC, a partner of the programme, is offering this opportunity. According to the annual ranking of The Financial Times, in 2014, ESSESC ranked third among Master in Management programmes in Europe. After their semester abroad, students will receive a degree from ESSESC. Thus, the programme allows students to obtain a European education at a significantly lower price than what they would have to pay at a western business school.
After defending the group consulting project, there is a professional internship lasting 4-6 months during which students will prepare their final qualifying papers.
What are the advantages of the programme?
Practical orientation. The courses will be taught not only by HSE instructors, but also by representatives of business who will talk about real case studies. A specially formed business council of the programme, which includes Russian and foreign companies from different sectors of the economy, will regularly hold workshops for students, help in finding places for internships, and writing consulting projects.
An orientation toward the West and East alike. At a time when Russia is beginning to actively develop partnerships with Asian countries, the semester in Singapore, where students will learn about doing business in Asia, will be particularly valuable.
For whom is the programme intended?
The programme awaits foreign students who, in addition to the main programme, can attend daytime Russian language courses and classes on the specifics of doing business in Russia. Foreign students can choose the duration of study – one or two semesters.
The programme is also suitable for Russian students who would like to receive a business education at the international level in an international group without leaving Moscow completely or for a long time. Classes will be held in the evening, so study and work can be combined, which enables students to immediately practice the knowledge they obtain in lectures and seminars.
How to get into the programme?
Since this is a professional training programme, applicants must already have a university degree (Bachelor's, Master's or specialist degree). They must also be proficient in English, as all classes are taught in English. Experience in business (at least one year) would be a major advantage. After submitting their documents, all applicants must complete an interview (in person or via Skype). A full description of the requirements for applicants can be found on the programme’s website. There you can also find information about the tuition fees and discounts available to those who apply before June 1, 2015.
